Mount Horeb is a breathtaking community highly known for their colorful residents and an inherited “Trollway” which serves as the village’s main street. Early European settles brought their trolls and eventually the city became decorated with them. It's aspect of Mount Horeb that community members embrace gaining them recognition as the "Troll Capital".
Mount Horeb might appear small, but this village offers residents all the shopping, educational and recreational facilities they need. The village also provides Police, EMS, Fire, municipal facilities, library, parks, recreation, and excellent schools. The Mount Horeb School District offers instruction from early Pre-K to high school.
Mount Horeb's location also offers easy access to via US Hwy 151 and the Military Ridge State Bike Trail. Both provide access to many surrounding state parks and recreational areas. Some of our favorites are Blue Mounds State Park, Cave of the Mounds, Stewart County Park, Duane R Hofstetter Conservation Park.
